Changing taskbar alignment in Windows 11

One of the biggest graphical changes in Windows 11 is the location of the taskbar icons and "Start" button at the bottom of the screen. By default, the taskbar is shifted to the center of the screen on Windows 11.

For those of us who have been using Windows for a while, this change is a lot to get used to. The good news is, you don't have to. If you prefer, you can easily change it back to the left side of the screen with just a few clicks. You can do this by following these simple steps which are also demonstrated in the attached video:

  1. Right-click the empty space on your taskbar and click Taskbar settings
  2. Scroll down to Taskbar behaviors and change the Taskbar alignment dropdown to Left.
  3. You should immediately see your taskbar shift back over to the left side of the screen.

If you have any other questions about the changes you've noticed with Windows 11, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or submit a help desk ticket.
